Today, we release a new country/regional souvenir for Antarctica! If you have already found a geocache in Antarctica, you automatically receive the souvenir on your profile.

Home to some of the hardest-to-reach geocaches in the world, Antarctica proves to be a worthy endeavor for adventure enthusiasts and geocachers alike. The fifth-largest continent is, in fact, a landmass despite being covered by a giant sheet of ice, which in some areas is over 2 miles (3.2 kilometers) thick. Antarctica has mountains just shy of 5,000 meters, a massive frozen grand canyon, an active lava lake, arctic wildlife, and 51 geocaches that can now earn you the official souvenir!

Are you in good caching spirits? We hear there’s a ‘Gathering of Soles’ for those looking for a smiley in Western New York. This cache is laced with trickery and no easy feet to solve. Hundreds of shoes have been thrown into these four trees since the 80’s, which means there are a lot of misleading hiding spots. No need to stick your tongue out in frustration though, most geocachers meet their sole-mate and walk away with a new hop in their step.

There is only one good, geocache, and many evil, red-herrings.” – Sockrates

The border around Bosnia and Herzegovina is shaped like a heart, so it’s only natural that we show some love by announcing it as our newest Country/Regional souvenir!

Bosnia and Herzegovina is blossoming with nature. Tumbling mountain ranges, hidden away castles, and ever-expansive forests draw in tourists from all over the world. Roughly 40% of the country is covered in pine, beech, and oak trees, teeming with wildlife. These forests aren’t the only tree-covered ecosystem in Bosnia and Herzegovina; it remains the only country in Europe to have a jungle. It’s called Perućica Rainforest, and some of the trees are over 300 years old.

You will have to wait for a dark ‘night’ to find this cache. We aren’t talking about Batman—this is a night cache, so all you have to do is wait for the sun to go down. This Letterbox Hybrid is no joke. It has three stages that lead you to a red-herring box full of 200 mobile phones and a birdhouse with an mp3 speaker that tells you your task to find this Geocache of the Week.
