Signal the Frog® celebrates Australia Day

From January 26-28, 2018 geocachers all over the world got together to celebrate Australia Day!

Geocaching events were held in 85 countries, with more than 31,800 geocachers in attendance. The “Where in the World is Signal? Australia Day 2018” souvenir was awarded 25,700 times. Signal also brought a gift to the party: A country souvenir for Australia! All geocachers who have found or will find a geocache in Australia will earn the new country souvenir on their profiles! So far, the souvenir was awarded 168,772 times.

From a chilly barbecue event in Borgsum, Germany to Signal’s vacation in Australia, we’ve gathered photos from events photos to show how Australia is celebrated around the world.

A year in review: powered by Premium

When Geocaching.com was founded by three friends some 17 years ago, who would have guessed that geocaching would grow to a community of millions around the world?

Since then, we’ve learned a lot from our community. But one thing we’ve always known is that none of this would be possible without our supporters. Caching hot spots in Australia, according to Signal the Frog®

Signal is heading to Australia this January with a brand new souvenir in tow to celebrate Australia Day. Everyone is invited to join the beach party by attending a geocaching event between January 26-28, 2018, wherever you are.

Signal’s tips for barbecuing–whether it’s hot or cold

With Signal’s trip to Australia only a few weeks away, it’s time to plan your events. Make sure to submit your Event Cache by January 12. Remember, you can earn the Australia Day 2018 souvenir by hosting or attending an event on January 26-28, 2018!
