Cache In Trash Out® (CITO) announcement for 2020

Earth is a tiny blue dot suspended in the vastness of space. It is home to liquid water, breathable atmosphere, abundant flora and fauna, and the only geocaching community in the universe. 

Since we live on the only planet—so far!⁠—with geocaches, geocachers understand how important it is to protect it. Cache In Trash Out® (CITO) is an environmental initiative supported by the geocaching community. Since 2002, CITO has helped preserve cache-friendly spaces. In that time, more than 470,000 people have volunteered at over 24,000 events in 124 countries.

“Cache and Release” (GC8HG04) is a dynamic D4/T2.5 Mystery Cache with many fun layers. Published just outside of Richmond, Virginia, this Geocache of the Week will surprise and delight any cacher who stumbles upon it. We were lucky enough to receive permission from geocache owners BrettandBekah to share the cache experience, and see the stages first-hand from the creators themselves. Of course, if you ever find it, you’ll still have to figure it out on your own.

Hay muchas razones por las que los geocachers dan puntos favoritos a los geocachés. A veces es por las impresionantes vistas que hay desde el geocaché. Otras veces es porque el contenedor te deja con la boca abierta. Da igual el motivo: los puntos favoritos son el modo perfecto de dar un premio extra a los escondites especiales. También son una manera de mostrar al resto de la comunidad que un geocaché merece la pena.

Souvenir Leap Day 2020

Imagina que hubiera un día extra al año para hacer geocaching. Pues ¡este año lo hay! Comienza a planificar tus salidas para conseguir el souvenir Leap Day 2020 al encontrar un caché, un Adventure Lab* o al asistir a un evento el sábado 29 de febrero.

El año bisiesto solo sucede cada 4 años, así que el día extra es perfecto para esos cachés difíciles de conseguir o encontrar. Aprovecha el día adicional del año bisiesto para vengarte de un DNF difícil o averiguar el código de un Mystery complicado.

Le souvenir du 366ème jour

Imaginez que vous ayez un jour supplémentaire pour géocacher dans l’année. Et bien cette année, vous l’avez ! Commencez à prévoir ce que vous allez faire pour obtenir le souvenir du 366ème jour en trouvant une cache, une Adventure Lab*, ou en participant à un event le samedi 29 février.

Le 29 février n’arrive qu’une fois tous les 4 ans, il convient donc de réserver cette journée pour les caches difficile à atteindre ou difficiles à trouver. Profitez de ce jour supplémentaire pour revenir sur un vieux DNF ou résoudre une mystery récalcitrante.
