Along the shores of the Red Sea, about 500 kilometers (300 miles) southeast of Cairo, you will find Soma Bay, a sunny beach area full of activities such as sailing, windsurfing, snorkeling, and scuba diving.
For thousands of years, dangerous currents, strong winds, and a myriad of reefs have made this area difficult for sailors to navigate—which is why you will find several shipwrecks below the tranquil surface of the warm water (23°C/74°F). Many wrecks have become an oasis for aquatic life, but this one is especially amazing. It’s our Geocache of the Week.
