When NASA’s Mars 2020 Perseverance Rover launched last July, it included a tracking code that you’ll soon be able to log. With the rover scheduled to land in Jezero Crater on Mars on February 18, 2021, we wanted to learn more about the first-ever interplanetary trackable. Longtime geocacher Dr. Francis McCubbin (mikbalt) is a member of NASA’s Mars 2020 SHERLOC instrument team who played a big role in this exciting geocaching milestone!

The most eastern point of Australia has a rocky coastline that hides a cache with over 200 Favorite points. Salty waves crash onto the shore as wind rustles the trees that outline the beach, providing an epic soundtrack to those who venture out towards the water. The cache is small and unsuspecting, but over 1,300 cachers have dared to go the distance to find our Geocache of the Week, Easterly Extreme (GCX0QP).

These are four fun Webcam Caches around the world. From a cache that waited 15 years for its First to Find to a location made famous 31 years before geocaching began, these Webcam’s have earned their cumulative 2,600+ Favorite points!
Webcam Caches are a legacy type of cache. While you cannot submit new Webcam Cache pages for review, you can still find and log those that remain active. To log a Webcam Cache, take a picture of yourself using the webcam associated with the geocache and upload it with your log.
