Geocacher Heidi, aka teamhine, wrote in to Geocaching HQ to share this amazing coincidence about two Travel Bug trackables that happened recently.
Last April, I created a trackable for my daughter and named it Thor. We dropped Thor into GC5RCNK – Left Field Bench in Wilsonville, Oregon. But subsequently my sister, who geocaches under ljh, traveled to Europe and took Thor with her. They traveled together throughout Germany, Spain, Belgium, and the Netherlands.

In August, I created a Jedi Master Yoda trackable for my son. We dropped Yoda into GCXYTC Seaside View on Angel Island, California where he stayed for about a month before getting grabbed and taken to the east coast.

When I looked closely, I realized that both Travel Bugs were in the same geocache on the same day: Snug as a Bug in Central Park (GC12F8M). Thor was placed September 18th and moved September 19th. Yoda was placed September 19th and moved the next day. I have no way of knowing if both Travel Bugs were in the geocache at the same time, but they were clearly logged in on the same day.

What are the chances of this happening: two Travel Bugs created by the same person, placed thousands of miles apart, and brought to the same geocache by different people on the same day?
This is why we love Geocaching. I wanted to share my store with the Geocaching community but wasn’t sure how. That’s why I’m writing you here. Please feel free to share this story!

Why Washington County is a great place to visit:
Washington County is filled with many “firsts” and “oldests.” This is where Texas became Texas. Tour th county exploring historical sites, quaint communities, good eateries, wineries, and museums.
“Stomp grapes? Yes please! Taste Wine? Yes Please? Teach the owner’s grandniece about geocaching? Yes please,” wrote geocacher doanna at GC4V22F.
Best time of year to visit:
Any time of the year is a great time to visit Brenham and Washington County – really! The most popular time is in March and April for antique shopping and Bluebonnet photo ops.
Must-see attractions:
Washington on the Brazos is THE historic site where Texas declared its independence from Mexico in 1836. Just 20 minutes from Brenham, you’ll learn all there is to know about Texas history at the Star of the Republic Museum. You can also explore what life was like in the 1800’s at Barrington Living History Farm. There are two geocaches on the GeoTour here, plus three state park caches!
Prizes:
Visitors can earn points while geocaching, eating, sleeping, and shopping around Washington County. Those who collect more than 25 points will earn a collectible two-sided, colorful geocoin!

Why this is Geocache of the Week:
You don’t need to have loved Super Mario games as a kid to enjoy this cache. It’ll inspire anybody who has a taste for adventure. This is an eight-stage multi-cache, which takes place in a quiet, light forest with the autobahn roaring far above.
We don’t want to give away too many spoilers, but here’s what we can tell you. At the first stage of this cache you learn your mission: rescue the princess. The next few stages are different “levels” of the game, sometimes literally. The stages have you wading through streams, edging your way along cliffs, finding eerie lost places, solving cleverly set up physical puzzles, and eventually finding and rescuing the princess. The final location is filled to the brim with wonderful swag for kids.
If you speak German, check out the logs on the cache page. It’s covered with people raving about how amazing the experience was. And don’t be fooled by the difficulty and terrain rating — this cache is frequented by geocachers both young and old.

(This was an awesome outing with FRP-O. Both young and old got their money’s worth. Lots of fun and joy was had while solving the puzzles. (First off: Compared to all of the cool lost places and numerous bunkers that we saw in the last few days, this multi-cache is absolutely a highlight. We encountered stages that were carefully put-together, incredibly cool, and sometimes downright tricky. I would have loved to give a favorite point for every stage of the cache. I can’t say too much more…you’ll have to experience it all yourself! It’s all about excitement, tension, and fun in the forest. Absolutely perfect for my ‘caching soul. If this were a hotel, I would have given it five stars. A huge thank you to the CO Sauerteam for this amazing adventure!!!)

Do NOT try and watch the reel from dropbox. This is a preview only and does not reflect the file quality. The file MUST be downloaded and played off a computer or DVD (not streaming via internet).
TEST THE FILE! You should be absolutely sure that the file you chose will play on the equipment you have available for your screening. We recommend that you watch the file all the way through some time before your event. This will ensure that you won’t have technical difficulties at your event (and thus sad attendees) AND you get the joy of seeing the content before anyone else!
Before downloading, make sure your computer is connected to a power source and has sleep mode turned off.
If you are having trouble playing the file on your video player, we recommend downloading VLC Player.
If one file type (.mp4 or .mov) doesn’t play, download the other and try that.
If the download fails, it could be because there was a hiccup in your internet connection. Please try twice before contacting us.
If you need to convert the file, we recommend this free application: MPEG Streamclip.
We are providing 3 different file sizes because we want you to pick the option that works best for your internet and screening situation. Of course, the bigger file size means better image quality, but we are confident that even the lowest size will be a satisfactory viewing experience.
