Everyone loves a geocache that can be found without too much hassle, but sometimes a geocacher craves something more. Sometimes a geocacher wants to spend all day on an adventure. Sometimes a geocacher wants to swim across lakes, jump between islands, and hike across bogs to make it to the logbook. For anyone looking for a cache that fulfills these requirements, look no further than Slapjais Kakis/Wet Cat, our Geocache of the Week.

New country souvenir, Bosnia and Herzegovina, with Geocache of the Week: Top of Bosnia and Herzegovina
The border around Bosnia and Herzegovina is shaped like a heart, so it’s only natural that we show some love by announcing it as our newest Country/Regional souvenir!
Bosnia and Herzegovina is blossoming with nature. Tumbling mountain ranges, hidden away castles, and ever-expansive forests draw in tourists from all over the world. Roughly 40% of the country is covered in pine, beech, and oak trees, teeming with wildlife. These forests aren’t the only tree-covered ecosystem in Bosnia and Herzegovina; it remains the only country in Europe to have a jungle. It’s called Perućica Rainforest, and some of the trees are over 300 years old.

Cache In Trash Out® (CITO) is an environmental initiative supported by the geocaching community. Since 2002, CITO Events help preserve the natural beauty of cache-friendly spaces. In that time, more than 363,000 people have volunteered at 18,000 events.
Lots of cachers think of CITO as a chance to pick up trash—which it definitely is. But it’s also a chance to preserve the integrity of cache-friendly places in other ways!
Hosted by cache owner The Wombles, Wombling free – Chalking the Horse brings cachers together to restore a prehistoric chalked horse figure in Uffington. While it isn’t unusual for CITOs to be limited to one occurrence, this particular CITO recurs twice annually. This means that, if you’re in the UK, you have multiple opportunities to participate—making it a perfect candidate for our Geocache of the Week!

Once upon a time there was a girl who was called ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ because her mother had made her a beautiful, red riding cloak. One day, her grandmother fell ill, so the girl set off on a walk through the forest to bring her granny some food. But, when Little Red got to her grandmother’s house in the woods, instead of her sweet granny asleep in bed, she found a geocache!
Not the ending you were expecting? Well then you clearly weren’t thinking of the story of GCC#134 Little Red Riding Hood, our Geocache of the Week!
