It’s Planetary Pursuit liftoff! Geocachers around the world will be leaving Earth on a majestic journey to every planet in the Solar System, geocaching and earning souvenirs now through April 15, 2018.
As we kick off this geocaching journey, we talked with four Geocaching HQ employees (and super cachers) to see how they plan to make the most of Planetary Pursuit. Read on to learn geocaching tips from the pros*.

Même si vous parcourez l’espace, il n’est pas nécessaire d’utiliser un service de données en itinérance pour trouver des caches ! Amenez votre aventure hors ligne pour trouver des caches partout où le jeu vous emmène avec Geocaching Premium. En tant que membre Premium, vous pouvez télécharger des listes de géocaches pour les utiliser hors ligne. Ainsi, vous serez toujours prêt pour la prochaine aventure, quel que soit l’endroit où se termine votre service cellulaire. Voici comment télécharger une liste et l’accéder hors ligne dans l’application Geocaching®:
1. Accédez à la section Listes de l’application Geocaching®.
2. Appuyez sur l’ellipse (…) à côté de la liste que vous souhaitez télécharger.
3. Sélectionnez Télécharger les données hors ligne.
Les cartes hors ligne sont enregistrées sous le type de carte Trails. Lorsque vous cherchez des géocaches hors ligne, passez au type Trails pour voir vos cartes !

Mission Planetary Pursuit ist offiziell gestartet und damit auch deine Entdeckungsreise durch unser Sonnensystem. Um eventuellen Turbulenzen auf dieser Reise vorzubeugen, wird dich die Bodenstation mit nützlichen Hinweisen zur erfolgreichen Raumfahrt versorgen.
Um nicht auf die Datenverbindung deines Mobiltelefons angewiesen zu sein und selbst weit entfernte Planeten erforschen zu können, nutze unsere Offline-Karten mit Geocaching Premium. Als Premium-Mitglied kannst du Listen lokal auf deinem Smartphone speichern. Sei selbst weit entfernt von Mutter Erde für das nächste Abenteuer bereit.
So funktioniert’s:
Offline-Karten werden als Wege-Karten gespeichert. Wenn du ohne Verbindung zur Bodenstation nach dem nächsten Geocache suchst, wechsle auf die Wege-Karte um deine Offline-Karten zu nutzen.

This Geocache of the Week is located on Itsukushima Island, popularly known as Miyajima, which translates to “Shrine Island” in Japanese.
The cache is located on the shoreline along the pleasant gravel walking paths, surrounded by lush mountains, gorgeous lake views, and dozens of curious sika deer. From there you can get a beautiful view of the great Torii gate while logging the cache.
At high tide, the shrine appears to float on water and you can boat under/through the great Torii. And at low tide, you can walk right up to the gate. Geocaching duo Abe&Carly set out to create a trackable that was both memorable and inspiring. As opposed to the normal coin or Travel Bug tag they came up with the idea to try and capture the handlers creativity and leave their mark on the trackable. They created a trackable journal where geocachers could draw pictures, write stories, and show their creativity.
